As per my statements in my last show about anti-Black gentrification, more evidence.
Yet again, no opportunities for Black men based off a corporate and policy-based approach that argues that Black men are the same as all men because we have penises. But more to the point, this corporate intrusion supports Black women but downplays Black men in terms of business opportunities during the worst economy since the Great Depression. This continues to gentrify the Black community that much more by creating/uplifting a buffer class of Black women (bolstered by 50 years of Black feminism) while leaving Black men to their own devices. Yet in people’s exuberance about (Black) women’s advancement, we wholly ignore the impact of such practices over the next 50 years or more. Hell, we’ve not grasped the impact of it over the last 50 years…
Great article, keep it coming!
